Reinventing natural beauty, since 1863
In 1863, Gaspard Cottance opened his Maison on rue des Lombards in Paris with a rule his century had not yet set for itself: to beautify the skin without ever harming it. The world proved him right: a balm patented as early as 1868 and exported to five continents, six hundred creations, four gold medals at the World's Fairs, and a seat on the jury of the 1900 Exposition alongside the greatest houses of the day.
In 2022, an entrepreneurial French couple revived the Maison after decades of dormancy, immersing themselves in its archives. They were not looking for recipes. What they rediscovered was a method, a philosophy: uniting Tradition and Science to create skincare ahead of its time, skincare that works with the skin, never against it. That pioneering spirit is the Maison's DNA, and we remain faithful to it as we reinvent natural beauty.

Our skincare is COSMOS Organic certified and audited every year by Ecocert. It is crafted in Brittany from organic ingredients, most of them French, and filled by hand, with natural fragrances composed in Grasse.
